Girls Camps
Girls Camps have been a popular activity for the local LDS population for many years. Luckily for them, we have just the place for LDS Girls Camps: Camp Rendezvous! It’s the perfect place to explore heritage, discover self, and strengthen youth.
Camp Rendezvous is open for reservations for most of the summer, and there is plenty of room for whatever size of group you have in our two large group camping areas: Camp Willow (50-100 people) and Camp Washakie (200 or more).
Our Daily Adventures program is available for Girls Camps, and most take advantage of this unique heritage experience. Our PAST-PORT to Daily Adventures is a hands-on, living history experience at five different venues: a 1917 farm, a pioneer settlement, mountain man fur trade camp, Shoshone encampment, and more. You can earn the coveted “Heritage Award” by visiting these venues and completing the interactive question and answer portions of your PAST-PORT with our living history interpreters. We can provide other learning opportunities, including our teambuilding course (Peter Maughan Teamwork Course), special workshops, a lively folk dance, entertainment, and much more. Or, we can leave you alone to do what you do best: strengthen young women. Most Girls Camps that stay here do a bit of both. At the American West Heritage Center, a nonprofit organization, we can provide as much or as little programming as you want.
In each of our campsites we have a program box which contains all the items needed to play a host of frontier games such as Horseshoes, Old Sow, Indian Bowling, Cowboy Ratchet and more. This box also contains materials and instructions for team/group-building activities to make the very best use of your time.
Our Girls Camp area boasts a nature trail, access to Daily Adventures, flush toilets, clean water, tables, chairs, shelter and plenty of space for camping, games, activities, and more. We have tipis for campers or for use as a head quarters, a natural amphitheater, and the loveliest view of the Wellsville Mountains in northern Utah.
With so many other attractions in our area, Camp Rendezvous often becomes a hub where groups stay, but then go to the theatre or opera at night, enjoy Summerfest in Logan (mid June), hike, fish, climb, or gallery walk. Logan, with its surrounding communities in Cache Valley, is a wonderful place with lots to do.
