Welcome Center

The American West Heritage Center (AWHC) is a living history museum and working farm located in Wellsville, Cache County, Utah. The AWHC history can be traced back to 1959 with the opening of the Man and His Bread Museum. Then in 1965 the Festival of the American West started their annual celebration at Utah State University. In 1971, the Ronald V. Jensen Historical Farm was developed and the Man and His Bread Museum Collection was transferred to the farm. The land was donated to Utah State University using a bicentennial grant and opened to the public. Then in 1995, the Festival of the American West and the Ronald V. Jensen Historical Farm merged to form the current 501 (c) 3, non-profit organization, the American West Heritage Center. In 1998, the Welcome Center was built and the Cache Valley History Museum was added in 2009.

American West Heritage Center Mission Statement:
To create an educational and entertaining environment that inspires visitors to learn, live, and celebrate the American West by exploring the diverse cultures that shaped Cache Valley and the surrounding region from 1820-1920.
